You think you know what belly dancing is?
Kandice Grossman explains some of the basics of belly dancing and, of course, demonstrates some moves. (1:04)
"It's a very good workout," dancer Nicole Beasley said. "What we do, with the formats that we follow for the art form, it's a technique. It's like any other dance form that you train and train and train for."
And train they do. Beasley and the other members in her intermediate belly dance class meet every Monday at the studio. For about a half an hour they contort in all directions for their warm-up stretch, before moving to the hard stuff.
"You get to express everything through your body," fellow dancer Jessie Holdinghaus said.
